Ideally suited to a hands-on Head Housekeeper looking to add some Assistant HM duties to their experience, or a yacht Stewardess wishing to move to land based. Female candidates only due to nature of some duties for this female Principal. We are also recruiting a House Manager and a Private PA to fully staff up this warm, active, informal household.
Reporting to the House Manager, the role is to aid the HM with the day-to-day management of this small London residence, and together undertake the care and maintenance of the interior, exterior, contents, furnishings, art works, collectibles etc. Also, supervision of any part-time staff and booking personal appointments for the Principal.
We are seeking warm, friendly, proactive, organised, detail-oriented individuals, who have a positive, can-do attitude, exceptional service delivery and ability to maintain absolute discretion.
Duties include, but not limited to –
- Aid the House Manager with the day-to-day running of the London Property, including care and maintenance of the Interior and exterior.
- Help oversee and co-ordinate any contractors.
- Food shopping, and in conjunction with the House Manager prepare and cook for the Principal when in residence. The cooking is simple – smoothie for breakfast, soup, salad etc. for lunch and a healthy 1 course dinner of protein with veg or salad.
- Wardrobe management, laundry and manage dry cleaning
- Care of fine fittings, finishes, furnishings, furniture etc.
- Supervise and co-ordinate onsite activities.
- Help to maintain and update household manuals and inventories.
- Organise, pack, ship, receive, record all deliveries and packages for household and Principal.
- Ensure relevant materials for meetings are received, re-sized, proofread, printed and presented to Principal in advance.
- Book personal appointments, run any ad hoc errands.
- Travel with the Principal up to 12 weeks total per year (multiple destinations and on a rota system with other staff) to offer assistance for both business and leisure trips. Aim to create a seamless “home from home” experience whilst staying in hotels.
- Pack/unpack for Principal on all trips.
Start around 1st March 2024
Salary: DOE £50K – £55K
5 day week: when Principal is not in residence Mon to Fri, 9.30 to 4.30 pm. Possible opportunity for shorter hours or extra days off during quiet periods to compensate for longer hours when travelling
When Principal is in residence: Tues – Sat. The HM will be flexible to swap days and cover a Saturday if you have something personal on during a visit Saturday. Both of you will work on an early/late shift rota, probably 8am-4pm and 1-9pm.
The schedules and rotas are new and aim to cover the Principal’s needs when in residence and to offer a good work/life balance, but there may be some small changes once the staff are in place and we see how it all works out on a visit.
